Blasphemy on this forum, but the XC is meh to me compared to Erebus, Sand Viper, Infinity…. I’ve had 2 and sold 2. Don’t really miss them either.
Different strokes for different folks. I too have had the lot of them, and have no real interest in buying another Erebus, Nighthawk or Infinity, but every time I sell an XC (sold 3 of them now), I end up buying another.

I have an Atlas Apollo on order and I'm really curious how it will stack up against my XC. Should be interesting. Now I'm told by guys who have shot both the Erebus and Apollo that with factory ammo they run equally fast. But with hand loaded ammo the Erebus edges it out.

it didnt feel as good in my hand or shoot as well for me
I always found myself reaching for the xc
1911s i can justify collecting
2011s i cant
The only other 2011 that felt as good was the taran sandviper
But the fit and finish were so bad to me the price wasnt justified so it went too

much of this is so subjective , its nothing more than conversation

the xc does seem to get a lot of love from a lot of 2011 shooters , most of whom have some pretty high end toys
The staccatto did something right
Thank you for the answer. Unlike cars, it is hard to get hand-on experience with some of these guns so impressions from the community are so valuable to someone like me who is looking. Much appreciated.

Bought one xc
2x erebus
2x artimis
1 x gtx
2 night hawks
1 sandviper
1 very nice guncrafter

some really nguns in that mix few dogs
But the xc is still in its spot and the others just memories
No regrets

in the end its all in the hand and mind of the shooter
I have to agree. I have had 3 X Infinity, 1 Honcho, 1 STI CM, 1 TTI Pit Viper. If I were pressed, I would say I shot the Honcho the fasted with the frame mounted optic and ported barrels. The TTI Pit Viper is extremely pleasant to shoot and really begs you to pull the trigger faster. The Infinity pistols I will say I was the most accurate with if just utilizing the irons. Everyone’s experiences are just going to be different and a lot of it is just how you feel about the pistol and the overall experience. I still have the Pit Viper and the CM. The other three were sold not because I didn’t like them but for other reasons. I have another Infinity coming in next month which I plan on keeping and a Charyn build in 2025. I don’t plan on selling anymore 2011s. Right now my shooting focus has switched back to precision rifles which I have neglected for a few years.

After watching John wick 3/4 a few times now, I suddenly feel the need for a nice 2011. Im sure I can’t be the only one. It’s Hollywood, but those movies seem to put the handguns up front. And those TTI pistols look badass. But for your money what would you recommend?

I really like the Pit Viper and Sand viper. The island front sight is really cool, but not being able to run an optic on an $8k pistol seems ridiculous. I prefer the overall look of the sand viper, but i wish it had to backup irons. I have also heard that the price is higher because of the TTI/hollywood connection and that the quality isn’t as nice as some others at a close price point.

That got me into looking into the Staccato XC. Similar in that it’s compensated with an island front sight. It prefer an upgraded grip module like a cheely, but I have only heard good things and the price point is better.

And then there’s the Erebus…Is this about the ultimate comped 2011? It’d be cool if it had the option to shoot irons or dot, but I have heard this thing just shoots like a dream and is better built than TTI.

Is it worth the extra $3k for a TTI or an Erebus over the XC?

I am not shooting a specific class. I just want a super flat shooting 2011 to have fun with. Is the lack of irons an issue or do you guys even miss them?
For the money the XC wins. The erebus with handloads will shoot amazingly. However I've had a chance to shoot a Hayes Customs Cobra and I gotta say it impressed me. They make island/ported barrels and they shoot flatter than XC in my opinion. They cost a bit more around 6700 I believe for the optioned out Cobra. TTI stuff is not on my radar as I've shot the full range and don't see the quality/craftsmanship for the price.

The ported version (non-island barrel) is around 5300.

The Cobra is pretty nice and overall a decent value. I believe that they have a good reputation. I haven’t shot one but I do like the Venom Customs better in terms of what he offers. Is Don still taking orders?

He wasn't taking anymore open builds this year when I spoke to him last week, but may still have openings for limited optics builds or something along those lines.

If you can get on Don's books, do it. I had his limited optic build for a short period of time until a buddy talked me into selling it to him. Don's craftsmanship will impress - especially given some of the pistols/brands mentioned in this thread.

Yup. I just got off the phone with them and they are about 8months + out for a Cobra and 12-15 mos for a full custom. Not bad considering. They also said they weren't doing anymore Rock Island builds until they are caught up.

Same here, I keep hearing really good things about it so excited to put it up against my lineup and see how it stacks up.

Living in California, I purchased the Atlas Erebus and absolutely love it. I cannot compare it to the TTI pistols, but I owned a NH TRS Comp for a few weeks. the NH was great but i had to make the tough decision to sell the pistol, but luckily it went to a close friend of mine.
Are you in norcal? Is he willing to sell the nighthawk? I might be interested.
