Quick update. Grip gets slippery after sweating for awhile. Gotta rethink this chainlink pattern. Glad he opted for the finger grooves.

We went through 6 different shooters today with it and only shot 500 rds. All using OEM Glock mags with various baseplates and stock baseplates. No issues at all. Everything fed and shot fine. Ammo today was Winchester USA9NATO 9mm 124gr FMJ.

Tomorrow night, my son and I will run 500 rounds through it. 300 rds of Federal 147gr FMJ and 200 rounds of Federal 147gr HST-JHP.

Mine is for sale.

I’m really leaning towards ordering one.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I went to the range today with the son of one of my old Army buddies. First time he ever shot a center fire handgun. Took the staccato, platypus, my carry G-19 and a smith 19-3. While there I let the RSO, a former recon marine who I know is wild about his staccato P, shoot the platypus. And then several other people joined in. Everyone liked the platypus more than the staccato. Me included. Now the 4th time I’ve shot them together and every time I go away thinking I like the platypus more. Plus, as said above, I carry a Glock, and that’s probably not changing. So I may as well keep the range toy that shares mags with my carry gun

i probably shouldn’t say all this with my staccato in the classifieds because now no one will buy it because they’re all ordering from stealth 🤣😂🤣😂

Just got home. Son and I put 300 rds of 147gr FMJ and 200 rds of 147gr JHP. No issues whatsoever. Other than a quick wipe with some CLP and a bore snake at the very beginning, it ran and ran. I'll give it a proper cleaning tomorrow and searching for a tool-less guide rod that fits it. I'm not fond of these two-piece ones that require a tool.

It shoots so well, we're not going to bother putting an optic on it. He's not used to optics anyway. I'm forced to use one at work so I've had practice.

I'm hoping they make a shorter version eventually. 3.25"-3.5" that takes Glock 19 mags. lol
Or I might just buy another Platy for myself. My XC should be here next month. Kind of regretting ordering it since I never carry anything that large. I ended up getting rid of my P and C2 because I never carried them either. I'm usually carrying some type of Glock since I'm issued a Glock.

@Trio What makes you lean towards the Platypus over the Stacatto? I'm 5 weeks into my P wait, and have fired but never owned a Stacatto, so I'd be interested in why you think the P trumps the S.

everyone is different. I bought a P in 2019 and a C2 in 2020. Didn't like the way they felt. In 2021 we got optics forced on us at work so I got a C2 Duo with threaded barrel and an XC for fun.

Then I remembered why I didn't like them. The grip was just off. I probably should have sent the grips off to get stippling but I didn't. Got rid of them.
This was before their new tactical grip which someone said felt slimmer.

Anyways, ordered the Platy last year since I'm swimming in Glock mags and it fits and shoots great.

Waiting to see if they do a shorter barrel Platy so I can try the new grip. Also waiting for someone close to get the new Staccato CS so I can see how that feels.

the trigger on the platypus is superior out of the box customization of the platypus is obviously off the charts and then you can’t discount magazine cost and availability the platypus is an equivalent or better shooter as well throw in traditional 1911 recoil system and it’s the winner in my book
