So, last week a couple of things came into my field of view that I have been curious about and possibly adding to stable as prices that were to good to pass up.

With everything I have been hearing about the soft market, I figured y'all must also be running into deals you just cannot walk away from.

Post them up! My first was a Ruger SR1911 that I've been curious about for a while. 10mm, ramped fully supported, full length bull barrel.

Over 40 years ago, I had a Colt Series 70 1911 in .38 Super I brainlessly sold off. Now in my dotage, I went into a trance and bought a 5" nickel finish Tisas Stakeout 9mm/38 Super with two barrels. I need this like a need a third nostril, but somehow, it set off my "Want Alarm."

Oh, well. That's what Addicts do. 🦈

I sold off or traded away all of my commander sized 1911s... Save for the RO ELITE CHAMPION 9mm I own. Had it milled for a RMRCC. Definitely a keeper.

Now I'm having a BAD itch for another.... This time no dot.
Whether to go 45acp or 9mm remains to be seen, but likely 45ACP. I've had great success with the single stack 9mm Tisas 5", so chances are it'd be another...... But that Garrison.... 🤔

Well, it wasn't a total impulse thing. I've been planning to get a nice unique pistol as a retirement present for myself but finally made the plunge the other day. it should be in my hands by the end of the week.

So because of this, I'm getting that.

SIG P220 Legion in 10mm. I’ve successfully talked myself out of 10mm for several decades. But a few weeks ago I again got, “The Urge.” No clue why. I was looking at a few 1911s and this P220. I’ve been a fan of P2xx DA/SA SIGs almost as long as I’ve been a fan of 1911s. So I’d have been satisfied with either. Now I just need to track down some decent ammunition for it. And if I end up loving it I expect to add a 1911 in 10mm sooner than later.

I grabbed a 2nd black TRP off GB for a steal of a deal recently ($800 before taxes and shipping).

I have also added several new Hi Powers to the collection recently and still have a Beretta 86 Cheetah on layaway at a LGS I need to pickup before the end of the year.

Definitely need to slow down and let funds reaccumulate, but this year has been wild for deals for me, especially from my local shops.

I recently went into an LGS I hadn't had a chance to visit yet. Sitting in the case was a very cool Colt that was sitting in the case for awhile. Already discounted, I offered a round number, which was a further discount and probably got it for what they paid for it. Colt MK IV/Gold Cup with a Centaur barrel.

My latest "I Don't Know What Got Into Me" purchase: A Tisas Stakeout in nickle finish with both 9mm and .38 Super barrels. I liked the look, and it was too cheap to pass up.

I've been curious about the .38S since I owned a Colt Series 70 back in my youth, sold away in a moment of insanity. I've barely had it out of the case, and need to do some research before I give the .38 barrel a road test. I came with 9mm and .38S mags, but I'm pretty sure you don't just dump in the .38 barrel and go to town. Recoil spring and extractor issues come to mind. Until I sort all that out, I'll shoot it 9mm.

PS The sights suck, almost as bad as those on my '34 Beretta Nightmare. But I know where Novak is to be found.
